Model development

Cooperation between environmental economists, geographers, hydrologists, agronomists and atmospheric modelers has resulted in the development of integrated models at different spatial scales. The availability of detailed spatial data on agricultural production and emissions has provided a unique possibility for the development of  model systems for integrated and spatial analyses of nutrient abatement, pesticides, nature protection and climate. Air pollution models are integrated with atmospheric models and linked to assessments of externalities.

Model examples include:

  • Nutrient abatement models at farm level, Danish catchment scale, Danish national scale and Baltic Sea scale (TargetEcon N, BALTCOST)
  • Models for pesticide regulation
  • Integrated ecosystem service provision model MAES DK
  • Air and atmospheric models and externality evaluatio.
