Department of Environmental Science (ENVS), Aarhus University prepares the Danish atmospheric emission inventories and reports to the international conventions UNECE Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP), the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol (KP). The international conventions deal with regional and global air pollution effects and this outline covers the pollutants reported to these conventions. The greenhouse gas emissions are also reported to EUs Monitoring Mechanism (EU MM) because EU - as well as its member states - is a party to the Climate Convention.
Reported pollutants and deadlines for reporting of emission:
Reporting | Deadline | Pollutants |
EU MM | January 15 (temporary) March 15 (final) | CO2, CH4, N2O, SO2, NOx, CO, NMVOC, HFCs, PFCs, SF6 |
UNECE-CLRTAP | February 15 | SO2, NOx, CO, NMVOC, NH3, PM, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Se, Zn, Dioxins, PAH, HCB |
UNFCCC and KP | April 15 | CO2, CH4, N2O, SO2, NOx, CO, NMVOC, HFCs, PFCs, SF6 |
The official Danish reports to UNECE, EU and UNFCCC are available at EIONET (European Environment Information and Observation Network).
