My primary research interest lies in the optimal design of environmental policies, where I combine theoretical insights with practical applications. I specialize in modeling and evaluating environmental regulations, ensuring that policy decisions are grounded in robust, evidence-based frameworks. Throughout my past research, I have contributed to a better understanding of the multi-pollutant and multi-governance dimensions of environmental policy, and explored the role of policy in driving technological change. I have also collaborated with researchers across various disciplines to address critical issues such as chemical pollution, air quality, and biodiversity protection.

One of the central focuses of my current research is addressing how data gaps and biases shape the design and effectiveness of environmental policies. This work is crucial as many environmental protection laws require decisions to be based on the best available science. Yet, regulators often face situations where scientific evidence is either incomplete, inconclusive, or ambiguous. Even when data is available, determining what constitutes the "best" science can be challenging, as different stakeholders promote findings that serve their own interests or preferred outcomes. My research identifies these challenges and provides insights into how data gaps and biases affect regulatory decisions and policy design. By addressing these issues, I aim to contribute to the implementation of more informed, equitable, and effective environmental policies.
