Abstract: Data assimilation is the process of combining model results with observations in a statistical consistent framework. This has important applications in meteorology, oceanography and many other areas of geophysical modelling. Its use in the context of air quality modelling is becoming increasingly widespread. In this presentation, I will talk about some of the work from my PhD, as well as some of the challenges and directions in the field.
