The Department of Environmental Science is responsible for the national air emission inventory of air pollutants and greenhouse gasses under a framework contract of the Ministry of Foods and Environment and the Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate. The department conducts reporting obligations to international conventions and the European Union. Research and data generation are carried out in the fields of activity data, emission factors, emission trends, forecasts and scenarios, and spatial distribution of emissions. The emission inventories support research within climate mitigation.
