As a Professor in Gynecological Cancer surgery, I conduct research in more gentle surgery, patient reported late effects, better diagnostics, treatment allocation, and prognostication. I am particularly interested in cervical, vulva- and endometrial cancer. My main current role includes research leadership of DaVulvaCon - The Danish Vulva Cancer Consortium that undertake large national studies on sentinel node mapping, translational and interventional studies in women with vulva cancer.
I undertake pregraduate teaching twice yearly in Ovarian cancer (lecture) and team based learning (TBL) in abnormal vaginal bleeding.
I participate in writing MCQs and undertake examination at the OSCE exam.
I supervise pregraduate medical studient in their master thesis
My primary area of responsibility is to undertake research in Gynecological Cancer including studies related to cervical, endometrial, ovarian, and vulva cancer. I also contribute to studies in pre-malignant conditions and Obstetrics.
I represent the department in several boards: The Danish Gynecological Cancer Group, the Danish Cervical Cancer Group, The scientific board of the Danish comprehensive Cancer Center, The AUH Research Counsil and the Danish Center for Surgical Cancer Research
