Lars G. van Dijk is a PhD student at Aarhus University in the Department of Environmental Science, within the Section of Environmental Microbiology. His research explores the ecology of microbial communities in cryoconite holes on glacier surfaces, with a particular focus on how pollutants in glacier systems influence these communities. Specifically, he investigates the microbial-driven mineralization of pollutants, as well as the impact of pollutants on community dynamics and overall ecosystem functioning.
Lars is part of the ICEBIO project, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network funded under the HORIZON-MSCA-2021-DN-01 program (Project No. 101072761).
