I am an environmental analytical chemist specialising in non-target screening and emerging contaminants. With research experience in China, Germany, the USA, Switzerland, and Denmark, I work with public authorities and partners to support science-based environmental policy. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University.
I lead an emerging research direction at ENVS on suspect and non-target screening of environmental contaminants using high-resolution mass spectrometry. My work focuses on identifying and prioritising organic micropollutants that are not routinely monitored, including PFAS, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, transformation products, and other hazardous substances. My research connects advanced analytical chemistry with exposure assessment and chemical risk prioritisation across Arctic, indoor, wildlife, human-related, and urban water environments. By developing this expertise at ENVS, I aim to establish non-target screening as a powerful early-warning approach for emerging chemical risks and to support more effective monitoring, regulation, and environmental health protection.
