Ecosystem services in agro-ecological systems

Agriculture takes up more than 60% of the Danish terrestrial surface, and agriculture is a significant industry. The current land use allocation and agricultural practices have significant influence on both the production of agricultural goods and the provision of other ecosystem services. The Danish countryside is fragmented and diverse with respect to productivity and environmental quality. This has made it particularly relevant to take a spatially explicit approach to account for the variability in services and for the variability of providers and beneficiaries of the services.

Research projects have focused on a range of ecosystem services. The links below give access to key projects and outputs.
