We are happy to invite you to attend a meeting where we will discuss the challenges and opportunities in connection with the current climatic and regulatory changes in relation to businesses and what analysis and solutions can be pointed out in this context.

Climate Change affects all parts of society. It is increasingly being acknowledged that the private sector is also affected both directly and indirectly via supply- and value-chains. For the past 3 years the World Economic Forum has concluded in their Davos meetings, that climate change is the biggest risk towards the global economy. The G20 countries in the context of the Financial Stability Board have developed a system for companies to assess and report their climate risks to the Task Force on Climate related risk Disclosure (TCFD). The European Commission is moreover developing a new Sustainable Finance Directive, which draws upon these assessments and methods. France has already enacted a law (Art. 173) on corporate disclosure of climate risks.

Aarhus University has invested in a new interdisciplinary climate center (www.iclimate.au.dk). The center will address the scientific and societal needs to effectively reduce climate related risks. In particular, the center is focused on turning risks into opportunities via innovative technologies and to describe and provide solutions to the companies.

The meeting will take place from 14.00 to 16.00 at two different locations

on Wednesday 4/9 at Campus Emdrup, Room A405 in building A, main entrance (X1), third floor, Tuborgvej 164 2400 Copenhagen NV, and

on Friday 6/9 at Aarhus University, Room 140E in the Edison building (5125) Kathrinebjerg campus, Finlandsgade 22, 8200 Aahus C.

Please send Department Secretary Christel Ege-Johansen cej@envs.au.dk a mail, if you are interested in participating and we will send you more information in August.

We will have thought-provoking introductions in connection with topics from leading researchers from the center as well a key-note presentation from a representative from CDP. After these we will have a facilitated plenum discussion.
