Title: Toxicity and fate of antibiotics in environments
Abstract: Antibiotics are widely used in the world for prevention human beings and animals from illness and also for promotion animal growth. However, it is found that about 40%-90% of usage amount of parent antibiotics were excreted through faeces. In recent years, antibiotics residues in environments were observed. So it is important to understand the risk of antibiotics to non-target organisms in environment and to illustrate how these residues can be removed or degraded. In the present presentation, the toxicity and fate of antibiotics in environments, and the degradation of antibiotics during manure composting will be introduced. In addition, the determination methods will also be introduced. These methods include antibiotics residues determination in manure, soil, water, and plant samples. At final, Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and my group will be also introduced.
